We’ve totally become midnight dog walking club members. When you do this in the neighborhood, we bump into people walking their dogs that have various behavioral issues.
Tonight, we walked by the river, and our pup took us through this tunnel, then some paths in a wooded area. P said “is this where we get murdered?”.
Dinner at Bondir. Our waiter said “wow nice camera! do you know they came up with a new one just two days ago?”
I have been leaving work late these days. So tired.
I spaced out and walked away from the parking meter without paying. The parking maid was just a few cars down. As I was walking away, he yelled out “Excuse me! Excuse me!!”
“…. You need to pay for that meter…”
“oh! yikes. Thank you.”
“no problem”
Then he walked away.
I guess the ground hasn’t been used for anything other than dogs in a while…
The first one arrived with cracks. Or it cracked when we opened it. Either way, it was deficient. We asked for a replacement. It took them a month and half to send another one, and they never asked for the broken one back.
So now, we have two of those, but enough space for only one.
It’s been such a warm winter. I’m not going to lie. It’s quite nice. No scary commute in my car. No slippery side walks. No freezing my butt off to walk the dog. However, for the skier that I am, this is a real bummer.
We just booked a ski trip to Colorado. We realize this is truly a gamble. We may go all the way out there, and see half the mountain closed. There was a really good deal, possibly because of lack of snow, with which we decided to just take our chances.
It may be a bit of cheating, but technically this photo was taken today (29th).
There was a private-room Karaoke birthday bash last night. Karaoke is another thing I dislike generally, for two reasons. 1) I have to sit there and listen to songs that I don’t care for, sometimes sung very badly 2) people push you to sing when you’ve said you aren’t singing 100 times already. Well, last night, I had a really good time. Nobody said I had to sing. Bad singing did happen but somehow, we all laughed together and it was 100% enjoyable.
Here is a shot from the baby shower I attended today. I usually hate baby showers. I have even skipped a few that were for my important friends in the past (they understood).
This gathering today, however, was done quite tastefully. There was no gift opening (which is the worst), and both male and female friends were there, mingling evenly. The conversation didn’t revolve around babies, either. Even the mom-to-be told me she was tired of talking about the baby and asked me to have a conversation on any topics but that.
During our nightly park visit with K-dog, it was windy and cold with a lot of stars above us. When the sky is clear, like tonight, we’ve found that it’s actually very dark on the ground level. We can’t see much of anything.
When the sky is covered with cloud, it reflects the lights from the city back to us on the ground, so we see more. Something we’ve figured out by coming to the same park almost every night.
