A certain plush toy maker is making a Shiba Inu version of their toy. They are doing so using crowd funding. People pledge small amounts of money and get something in return when the toy is in production. The pledgers are mostly Shiba Inu owners, of course.
Since our dog is very fearful of noises and whatever objects he finds scary, we are always looking for parks that are green and isolated enough from the hustle and bustle of city. It’s a pain in the butt because even when we think we found the perfect one, sometimes he decides that it is not quiet enough and pulls away frantically back to the car.
Worked from home… It meant I got to go out for nice lunch with P. 🙂 This Ploughman’s Lunch was so perfect. It’s not too heavy but satisfying my cravings for salty things. It’s served at an Irish Pub just 5 minute walk from my place. They serve killer Brunch too. I can’t wait to go back there for another round.
I feel that I go to our neighborhood coffee shop too often. I think we should be making our own coffee most mornings and the trip to the cafe should be a treat. It has not been that way. It helps me feel happier about going to work when I have their coffee in the cup holder while driving.
This is the view I get when I work from home. I don’t know about you, but this looks like an ideal working environment to me. I wish this was my life every day.
This place always makes me think of the movie “Mosquito Coast”, and makes me wonder how people made ice before freezer existed. I know there were ice companies in 1800s, but were they really shipping ice blocks so far away? I don’t even know how that was possible without refrigeration.
I go in to work later than many people. So naturally, I can only find a parking spot on the last floor (the roof floor). When I leave, most people have gone home already, and I’m often greeted by a sky like this.
There is this vegan restaurant/takeout place that is relatively new nearby. I have seen some raving reviews from my acquaintances, who are into yoga and vegetarianism, who often proclaim that they love their lives and talk about blessings, etc. on facebook. I avoided the place for so long. I watched people with yoga mats and dreadlocks walk in and out of it, while visiting the coffee shop right next to it.
Attended an emergency first aid class at work. It was an hour class. I came out of it even more paranoid than before.
We went to see the band called Destroyer. It’s a bit different type of music that we normally choose to go. It was nice though, and made me totally nostalgic for Roxy Music tunes. Just to be clear, I didn’t know Roxy Music stuff in real time. I’m a tiny bit younger than that generation. Just a tiny bit.
This is how my feet look when I come back from a night walk with P and the pup in the park. At night, the grass is always at least a little wet. And we try to run around for the dog. It’s a tiring chore with the reward of cuteness.
After thinking about it for at least 4 years, I finally decided to go forward with the installation of ductless mini-split air conditioner in my condo. The cost was always the issue. I thought if I waited for a while, the price would go down, but it hasn’t. This system is the standard A/C style in Japan. Everybody had it. Every newly built place comes with wires and duct holes in place for it. For 700 dollars or so, you can have the unit and the installation work. Because the system is not common here, it costs at least 4 times as much.
