It was weird how crowded the place was on a Tuesday night. It turns out that it was the last day before the Groupon expired and everybody was, like we were, there to use it.
Something happened at work around 5pm today. Something unexpected, something sad, something that left us utterly confused.
It’s crazy, but at this age, I’m suffering from the spring allergy for the first time in my life. As soon as I wake up, my nose starts itching and running. It stays itchy all day long.
Four years ago, I attended The David Allen Company’s GTD (Getting Things Done) 2-day lecture, sponsored by my work. I enjoyed the lecture and the idea so very much. I cannot say I have fully implemented the methodology, but I try to apply parts of it to my daily tasks at work. And I feel equipped to deal if and when I feel overwhelmed by projects.
I’ve avoided using, for this project, the photos in which my dog is the main subject, because he is discussed and photographed enough everywhere else. But I forgot to take the 366 photo for this day, so this photo will have to do…
For Greek Orthodox Easter Sunday, P’s aunt, unkle, cousins and their kids (one boy and one girl) came over to spend the day. According to the weather forecast, it was going to be rainy. Fortunately, it turned out to be just a really beautiful day.
This trail of white powder started in one of the two elevators. It was halted on the first floor with its door open. The powder went all the way to the front entrance of the building, then out through the glass doors.
I had the abscess cyst on my earlobe drained today. I’m sorry to be sharing such a gross story, but really, that was all my day was about.
My Primary Care Physician (PCP) left the hospital and opened her own practice some months ago. I decided then to take this opportunity to find a better PCP, and I still haven’t taken any concrete steps toward the goal.
We slacked (a lot) the nail cutting of our dog. Then today, we tried to get it done all at once. We cut off a bit too much of one nail. Poor K yelped, squirmed in my arms, then ran away, leaving a little blood stain on my jeans.
It pains me whenever we do something and it leads to even a tiny bit of distrust. I was so sad and dwelled on it for a lot longer than necessary.
I attended a photography seminar hosted by National Geographic Traveler Magazine, which ran from 9am to 4pm. I took a seminar by them before, and it was wonderful. It was a beautiful Sunday today, but I definitely did not mind spending it in the dark auditorium, listening to great photographers.
They provided lunch but I stepped out to get my own lunch. While sitting in the cafe, looking out, I realized I was in crazy awe of one of the two speakers. His works shown on the screen were just beyond amazing. While I ate the sandwich called The Ike (very tasty), I thought about how everybody tries to be good at something, but some people just have it in them to begin with. I felt very inspired and very discouraged all at the same time.
And I snapped this photo with my iPhone.
One of the business guests from Tokyo Office decided to stay in the city for the weekend. I told her to give me a call in the evening, and she did. I drove by MIT for her, then we walked around in Harvard Square.
There was this hat store that I had never noticed before. They said it had been open since last August. I guess I hadn’t walked through the area with shopping in mind for that long. I bought a winter hat for 50% off. With this extremely warm winter, I’ll probably have to wait till next winter to wear it.
My post-vacation non-productiveness continues.
Stopping at a nearby coffee shop in the morning and getting a latte (which is normally consumed only on weekends) made me happy only temporarily. I’m so looking forward to the weekend. I need some solid quality time at home.
