After consulting with a book “Best Hikes With Dogs: New Hampshire & Vermont”, we decided to go hiking on Mt Willard. The book said it was “moderate” and 3-4 hours round trip.

Well, according to our wussy unfit bodies, it wasn’t moderate. It was exhausting! The reward we didn’t expect at the end of the climb was this, though. Wow.

As we finished our sandwiches looking toward this magnificent view, and got ready for the descent, it started sprinkling. Unfortunately, because of the slippery surfaces, at the very very end of the hike, about 100 yards from the parking lot, P rolled his ankle which swelled up so big in 30 seconds. In the down pour that followed, we drove to the local pharmacy and bought wrapping gauze and icing packs. It’s a really good thing that this did not happen during the ascent or earlier in the descent 🙁
