I was so preoccupied by certain things today that I did not pay attention to things to take photos of. At night, I said “Oh crap. I don’t have a photo for the day. Let me just take a picture of something on the wall.”
Flowers have been blooming around here. However, the day after the extremely windy day, the flowers are in bad shape….
I had the abscess cyst on my earlobe drained today. I’m sorry to be sharing such a gross story, but really, that was all my day was about.
My Primary Care Physician (PCP) left the hospital and opened her own practice some months ago. I decided then to take this opportunity to find a better PCP, and I still haven’t taken any concrete steps toward the goal.
While walking the dog at a city park, we saw a couple standing together, looking up to a tree together and smiling together. Our dog started playing with their dog, so we paused next to them. They, without looking away from the tree, told us that there was an owl up there.
I had never seen one in real life before. It was just sitting there, being cute and fuzzy. Of course, our eyes got fixated on the wise-looking bird, right away. The first couple left meanwhile, and another group of people passed by. We pointed the owl out to them. They were fascinated. They also got stuck there, as we walked away, looking up and smiling.
Friends invited us for dinner tonight. They cooked up those delicious pieces of beef. I only finished half of mine, unfortunately. Everybody else finished their piece, I think.
We talked for hours and hours over the steak and beer. There were some important topics that we did need to hash out and vent, and boy did we vent. It felt good. It felt like we had allies. It was a great way to spend Saturday night.
I worked from home today. It was for a not-so-good reason, but I still loved sitting on the couch with the pup next to me and doing the work. We drove K-dog out to a very nice park for a walk in the afternoon. Since P does not own a car, whenever I can be home during the week, we get excited and take the dog somewhere fun.
I began this week worrying and grumpy about the abnormal heat, but look at me now. I’ve already gotten so used to it. This was another gorgeous summer-like day in New England.
Our neighbors have been having dinner parties or late-might chats on their porches. We felt like we had to do something special outside, too. So, we had the takeout Indian food outside with candle lights.
Today was a stupid day on which I did a stupid thing and kept obsessing about it all day long. The dinner outside definitely helped the day to end a little better.
It’s so peaceful when I sit out on the porch with my new toy and leisurely surf the Web for funny pictures and read from the endless news source. This week’s warmth is unseasonable and worrisome, but I did sit back and enjoy it tonight…
Quiet Monday at work. It is because Tuesday is a holiday in Japan, and people there took their Monday off, too. Normally, when I get to work at the beginning of the week, I have the inbox full of messages from people in Japan office who have already completed their Monday. And these days, they are my main focus of communications other than the vendors. This means tomorrow will also be a quiet. Hooray!
Another very warm day and very warm night. This field is normally without any lights by the time we visit for a walk. Tonight, there were people kicking some balls and jogging around the tracks. Awesome for them, a bummer for my dog who likes peace and quiet.
I have a bookshelf next to my bed, and I keep a lot of books there. I mean to read all of them. Really. But when I get in the bed, and start reading, within a few pages, I am unable to stay awake. I like the idea of reading in bed, but it does not seem to work in practice.
It worries me that it’s so warm out. I have seen the arrival of large flies. Mosquitoes will soon follow. I hear ticks are out and very active already. When I think about the heat this summer may bring, it’s dreadful.
Part of me wants to just celebrate the warmth. But then, there is really no Spring thaw to celebrate. The winter never came to begin with, and I love winter. I love snow. If I’m ever going to get a tatoo, it’s going to be a snowflake.
While we were out on the beach today, though, there was really no reason to be grumpy or worried. It was just simply beautiful.
People here are so excited about St Patrick’s Day. We see people wearing green all weekend and the city is filled with drunken people.
Somebody here used it as an excuse, too, and bought a whole bunch of Guinness and stuffed them in the fridge. It’s all right. I do prefer less creamy beers, though.
