  • 172/366 | Destroyer

We went to see the band called Destroyer. It’s a bit different type of music that we normally choose to go. It was nice though, and made me totally nostalgic for Roxy Music tunes. Just to be clear, I didn’t know Roxy Music stuff in real time. I’m a tiny bit younger than that generation. Just a tiny bit.

  • 171/366 | Grassy Feet

This is how my feet look when I come back from a night walk with P and the pup in the park. At night, the grass is always at least a little wet. And we try to run around for the dog. It’s a tiring chore with the reward of cuteness.

  • 170/366 | Jealous

The new Macbook Pro arrived today. It’s not mine. It’s P’s. My Macbook is still relatively new and good. It works very well with my Apple Cinema display. I’m not jealous of his Retina display because my iPad and iPhone both have retina displays.

    I’m not jealous.

  • 169/366 | It’s not a toy

While walking on the nature trail at the fells, the pup had a great time chasing after frogs. It’s rained and I guess they are out and about. We saw frogs of different colors and different sizes.

  • 168/366 | Greek Food!

Greek churches have Greek Festivals every summer. Since P is half-Greek (his dad moved to the US in his 20s), and since we visited Greece 4 years ago, we try to go to those festivals and enjoy the food. If we really tried, we could probably go to a Greek Festival every other weekend, because different churches have their festivals on different weekends.

It’s one of those things that make up the summer experience for me in this city.

  • 167/366 | Friday = Margarita

P makes margaritas on Friday evenings. I like it.

  • 166/366 | Reading

While walking the pup late at night, we passed this street lamp. This is bit of an isolated area. Cars go by but not pedestrians. This guy sat at the foot of the lamp post, reading a very thick book. Very very intriguing.

  • 164/366 | Ductless Mini-Split A/C

After thinking about it for at least 4 years, I finally decided to go forward with the installation of ductless mini-split air conditioner in my condo. The cost was always the issue. I thought if I waited for a while, the price would go down, but it hasn’t. This system is the standard A/C style in Japan. Everybody had it. Every newly built place comes with wires and duct holes in place for it. For 700 dollars or so, you can have the unit and the installation work. Because the system is not common here, it costs at least 4 times as much.

  • 163/366 | some things are just hard when alone

When I moved into the condo 6 years ago, I sold most of my old furniture on Craigslist, and bought pretty much everything new. Back then, I did not have a live-in boyfriend, and enjoyed immensely the feeling of owning a place of my own. I was going to take a good care of my 680-sqft palace. I was looking forward to being an independent person.

  • 162/366 | happiness

My friends had a baby a few months ago. I’ve been a bad friend and had not given them a visit. This afternoon, they threw a little party and we finally got to meet the brand-new person. He was kinda out of it, though. He was so sleepy. I was more fascinated by how relaxed, happy, and beautiful the new mom was.

  • 161/366 | American Sushi

A friend of mine and I took a “Sushi Making Class” this afternoon. It was held in the back of a local Sushi-grade fish store. The friend who is an Italian is leaving in a couple of months to go back to Italy after about 6 years in the US. She made a “bucket list” for Boston, and trying to do every one of them before the departure. This class was one of them.
