I thought it was a plumbing issue, but P insists that replacing the flush valve will solve it. Wow, the thought of having to fix anything about toilet makes me so nervous… and so grown up.
This was a scene from my morning commute. Great start of a Friday.
I swear I saw those two pigeons kissing and resting their heads on each other right before I took this photo.
It’s hard not to get sucked into the world of “animal welfare” when you have a fearful pet (or maybe any pets). Seeing K-dog terrified so frequently has made me extremely sensitive to slightest signs of dogs’ (and animals’) distress. A well balanced dog gets stressed in a shelter or in any sort of unfriendly environments. Our dog is the kind that jumps with the slightest noise and trembles at the sight of store doors opening. He would not survive.
So, I have been in this new team for a few months now. The team belongs to the finance department of the company. My previous team was in the Development organization of the company, filled with software developers, project managers, testers, and documentation writers.
because it surely did get my attention
The (awesome) cafe across the street. $3.25 per latte. $100.75 per month. $1209 per year. Yes, I will try to make coffee at home more often.
Dude, you have two heads!
All those frequent heat waves are turning the leaves on the trees and on the ground brown. Walking around in the parks visually feels like an autumn walk, except that I suffer from the heat and humidity and am soaking wet by the end of the walk.
When P moved in a few years ago, I kept the little space I had carved out for myself as an office, as mine. A couple of years later, we decided that P should work at home instead of a rented space, to save money. And I had to give up the office space to be shared. Sharing, however, did not work out as we intended (during the day, it was P’s. during evenings, it was mine). P needed to work a lot of nights. And whenever I wanted to use the space, I had to move his stuff out of the way first. I rarely sat there anymore and my beautiful Cinema display were mostly unused. My frustration and resentment slowly built up.
Summer hat shopping in Harvard Square. It was there that I learned about hat fitting tape. What an awesome thing. This would have solved a lot of my hat-fitting problems in the past. I’ve always had trouble with hat sizes. I guess I have a humongous and/or misshaped head. I also learned about the existence of hat stretchers. I can’t believe I’m discovering all those things at this age!
I have 4 of those in the closet. They let a person move heavy furniture on hardwood floors easily and without scratching the floor. I can’t remember how many times they came in handy when I first moved in here and was still trying to figure out the best layout for the rooms. I changed the configurations many times, and each time, I was able to do it without anybody’s help, thanks to those fuzzy things.
