This trail, called Sylvanite, became our favorite of the day. It was warm and sunny. And everything was so beautiful.
We took the shuttle down to the town of Crested Butte for some groceries.
We enjoyed powder skiing right from 9am. After a couple of hours, my legs needed some good rest. At a mid-mountain outside bar called Uley’s Cabin, I enjoyed this warm drink that the bartender made for me.
Woke up at 5am, flew out of LaGuardia at 8:30am, transitioned in Dallas, and arrived at Gunnison Airport at 3pm. This is the beginning of our 5 night 6 day vacation in Crested Butte Ski Resort in Colorado. It’s snowing hard in the area. The 1st day out on the mountain, tomorrow, is going to be e.p.i.c.
I’ve been at P’s parents’ home (where he grew up) many times before but I always browse through the things displayed on shelves just like the first time. Someone who looks just like P is smiling at the camera in the framed photos. The drawing he did when he was in highschool, some trophies, books he used to flip through… They are all important pieces of information for me to understand P better.
The kitchen is a mess. Packing for a trip the night before in a hurry is definitely a mistake. I know I’m going to forget something. Sigh.
Such a busy day at work. Even going to the bathroom, I did it in a hurry. It is always like this before Vacation. My mind was elsewhere, a lot, also. Some terrible thing has happened to one of our friends, and seeing her cry the night before made me all shaken. It was hard to be productive.
All those people were doing descents. It looked doable for me, but the preparation seemed to take forever. This place used to be a querry. Because people kept diving into the water, they filled the querry, and now it’s a city rock climbers playground.
Strange Weather today. Snowing under blue sky.
This is our favorite BBQ joint. I love sitting near the kitchen.
Somebody in our apartment has decided that the winter is never going to come this year, and started shedding. Sticky lint rollers, we need you!
We always wondered what this huge shed was for. It’s standing in the middle of a city park, right next to a baseball field. Today, we figured it out. It houses the whole winter worth of ice-melting salt. You know, that evil stuff that burns my dog’s paws. The warm water that it has been probably means the shed is very very full. Ick. I’m not going near it!
